Graduate Programs — Curriculum Studies, M. Ed.

The M.Ed. with a major in Curriculum Studies arises from a reconceptualized approach to studying questions such as "What is knowledge?" and "Who gets to decide?" in light of critical scholarship leading to democratic community building and an ethic of social action that honors diversity and demands respect for all people. Curriculum studies critically examines educational issues and policies in light of scholarship in Psychology, Philosophy and Social Foundations as well as scholarship in Education. Students come from many professional backgrounds, such as schools, businesses, non-profit organizations and government agencies. They share a desire to assume leadership roles in solving educational problems in these settings.
