Message from the Dean

Sometimes we take things for granted.  I have been the dean of the TCU School of Education for almost seven years and I am well aware that the teachers, counselors, and administrators we graduate are exceptionally well prepared.  But early in the spring semester a new supervisor of our student teachers sent a note about how amazed she was at the quality of our student teachers.  She could not believe they were so skilled in teaching and classroom management and that they were so able with children of many different abilities.  I should not have been surprised at such praise, but I was. News - School of Education welcomes FWISD superintendent Johnson

The College of Education hosted a reception for the Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD) superintendent, Dr. Melody A. Johnson, to welcome her to TCU and introduce her to our programs. (more).

More news KinderFrogs art exhibit featured at local gallery

The KinderFrogs School recently hosted an art show at Studio Sabka Fine Art Gallery. The exhibition featured portraits from the KinderFrogs School, created by artist Grigor Aleski, along with artwork of KinderFrogs students. The art show began with an opening reception, attended by parents, children and faculty from KinderFrogs.

TCU's Starpoint School celebrates its 40th anniversary

Starpoint School, TCU's laboratory school for children with learning differences, is celebrating its 40th anniversary, acknowledging the tremendous impact the school has had on more than a thousand children. Part of the celebration will include a banquet, featuring alumni from Starpoint School, Saturday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kelly Center. There will also be an open house from 1-5 p.m.  Friday, March 2 at the school, located at 2805 Stadium Drive. (more).

Get Involved - School of Education seeks nominations for Education Award

The TCU School of Education Alumni Association is accepting nominations for the 14th annual School of Education Alumni Association Excellence in Education Award. The distinguished honoree will be recognized at the awards ceremony to be held on Monday, April 2, 2007 from 4:30-7:30 p.m., Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center, located at 2820 Stadium Drive.
